Celebrate American Cheese Month


OCTOBER IS AMERICAN CHEESE MONTH!

The American Cheese Society American Cheese Month is a grassroots celebration of North America’s delicious and diverse cheeses, and the farmers, cheesemakers, retailers, cheesemongers, and chefs who bring them to your table.


Each American Cheese Month, we aim to:

• Recognize and raise awareness of the quality and diversity of American cheeses.

• Support and promote great cheese, local foods, family farms, traditional methods, and sustainable production models

• Generate funding for the nonprofit American Cheese Education Foundation.

• American Cheese Month events are planned and led by anyone who loves great cheese, from cheese professionals to cheese enthusiasts, and events take place around the country, and sometimes internationally.

The American Cheese Education Foundation (ACE)

The American Cheese Education Foundation (ACE) is the American Cheese Society’s (ACS) nonprofit alliance organization. The Foundation supports ACS’ education program through fundraising for scholarships, educational content, and research efforts for ACS members. Its priority is to further educational opportunities for all those interested in producing, marketing, selling, and appreciating North America’s artisan, farmstead, and specialty cheeses.


The ACE Foundation’s areas of support include:

• Scholarships to bring cheesemakers, retailers, students, and chefs to the ACS Conference

• Webinars on timely topics, available at no cost to ACS members

• Industry research including the biennial State of the U.S. Artisan & Specialty Cheese Industry Survey

A portion of the proceeds will benefit The American Cheese Education Foundation (ACE) is the American Cheese Society’s (ACS) nonprofit alliance organization.

Publix Aprons Cooking Schools - American Cheese Month with Certified Cheese Pro Michael Landis

October is American Cheese month and to celebrate we are pairing up some American Artisan Cheeses with some American Craft Beers. Join Michael Landis, an American Cheese Society Certified Cheese Professional & a Court of Master Sommelier, on a journey into the world of pairing up beer, cheese & dinner. Michael personally selected the beers, cheeses and recipes to create a fun and well paired dinner experience.

The range of cheeses will cover the highly popular styles along with what the American Artisan Cheese makers are doing best: creating cheeses based on world-renowned recipes and letting their own Terroir influence the final cheese’s flavors.
